Dear Friend of On Track:

American field and track is back! I am pleased to say that our nation’s athletes did their country proud in 2000, bringing home Olympic medals with standard-setting performances in Sydney. As an old pole vaulter, I was especially gratified to see U.S. men Nick Hysong and Lawrence Johnson go 1–2 in the vault (a first since Don Bragg and I did so in Rome in 1960). I was just as proud to watch our own two-time Beach Pole Vault Challenge* winner, Stacy Dragila, claim the first Olympic gold medal ever awarded to a female vaulter. With a year like that on the books, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

In preparation for the promising season ahead, I invite you to check out the many new items and time-tested favorites featured in this 2001 On Track Catalog. Inside you’ll find new equipment like Field Tents, and implements like Newton, Moye and Vers-A-Bloc Starting Blocks, the Gillett II Adjustable Shot and Soft Shell Shots, the Lex Calibur “Soft Land” Hammer, and an even wider range of discus and javelins from which to choose. And if you’re a pole vaulter, you’ll be interested to hear that On Track has nearly 1000 poles in stock — that’s more poles than we’ve ever had on hand before.

In recent months, our customers have really taken to Puds — throws training weights designed by champion hammer thrower Lance Deal — and Amerisport gear bags, both gaining in popularity. Our customers have also asked to see more from our line of instructional aids, and we have answered them by adding to our extensive library of books and videos.

It is truly an exciting time to be involved in this sport, and our experienced and courteous staff at On Track looks forward to helping you make your mark in this competitive environment with the highest quality equipment available on the market today.

Best wishes to you for a successful 2001 season,

Ron Morris
Owner, On Track
